Round 6 (Home Vs Pennant Hills GC)
On Sunday we played Pennant Hills at The Coast on beautiful spring day. Winds started at westerly turned to south east then finally north east.
With that we changed the teams around and played with new partners for the day.
With No6 (reserves) not being played as Pennant Hills had on one, David Quigg & Judy Barrett had a walkover.
Out at No5 was the team of Daniel McNeill & Amanda White with the lead changing several times before losing 1 down.
At No4 was Paul McFadyen & Carmel Fifield who never had the lead all day and lost 1 down.
At No3 was James Brady & Janet Rose who were in front from the beginning to win 6/5.
At No2 was Brad Fifield & Kerri Blyth who won the first 4 holes and dominated the opposition to win 8/6.
At No1 was Michael White & Jessica Ryan who also dominated the opposition to win 6/5.
I’d like to thank Quiggy for looking after the halfway food & drinks and keeping everyone updated with the scores.
I’d also like to thank on the behalf of the team the Representative Committee for all the work they have done with what has been a long campaign for the Mixed Pennant team which started in early January and finishes for us in September.
Regards
Paul ‘Gums’ McFadyen
Round 5 (Away Vs Richmond GC)
Last Sunday saw the recommencement of the Mixed Pennant season after nearly 7 months since our last game in February.
We needed some super subs for the game as Michael Berting & Marnie Schuhmann have relocated to Batemans Bay, Kerri Blythe in Scotland visiting her mum, and Janet Rose & Nicole Heinrich unavailable for the day, we asked Margaret Hogan, Judy Barrett & Karen Parker to fill in. Then at the 11th hour Karen had to pull out sick. So Debbie de Kievit jumped in and played.
We travelled to the far northwest of Sydney to a wet and windy Richmond Golf Club.
With no carts are on the course it was going to be a long day for particular one person.
After nine holes we had three times halved and three teams 2 down.
The final scores were:-
- James Brady & Jessica Ryan lost 5/4
- Michael White & Amanda White lost 1 down
- Brad Fifield & Carmel Fifield won 1 up
- Paul McFadyen & Margaret Hogan lost 3/2
- Daniel McNeil & Judy Barrett lost 1 down
- Tony de Kievit & Debbie de Kievit lost 3/2
I’d like to thank the ladies who played for the team for the 1st time this year.
At the time of this report it is still possible for us to win the division. But everything needs to go our way as no team has won away from home.
We need a male sub this Sunday with The Captain ditching us to play in the ¼ final of The Warren Trophy. Anyone wishing to play just txt or email me.
We play Pennant Hills at The Coast this Sunday at 11:00.
Regards
