The Final 24th April 2023.
We travelled to Muirfeild GC to play against Ryde Parramatta GC. Muirfield GC was an ideal venue to host the GF. Overcast, cloudy with a little down pour, just before tee off, It didn’t matter…. The Coast GC were in the last 2 from 35 Sydney metro clubs. This competition started on the 5th of February 23. The what a journey…..It was so fitting that our 3 winning matches were all won on the 16th, in front of a very large crowd of Coast supporters.
Jess Ryan & myself are so proud to say The Coast GC have won the mixed pennant for 2023.
This wouldn’t have happened without the encouragement and support from our loyal members. SEMI FINAL 16TH APRIL 2023
Semi final 16th April 2023.
We travelled to Ryde Parramatta GC to play against Barnwell GC. The Ryde Parramatta golf course had some serious down pours in the week prior to the game. Heavy under foot, Preferred lie through the green, 50% of the bunkers were out. And cored greens!! Not ideal, but it’s the same for all. Blustery swirling winds ….. Suited our crew perfectly! It just added to the challenge. It is always tight in any final series, and we were prepared for a testing day of golf. Barnwell GC came with a big squad of travelling supporters, so good to see, good on them👍🏻 I am so proud to say we won !! What a great day to remember in so many ways. Playing the final holes in complete darkness, It was like the movie “The legend of Bagger Vance” Final scene for all you movie buffs. No spot lights only iPhones !! Unbelievable !! To our loyal travelling supporters and caddies, you guys are amazing thank you. We travelled to Cabramatta GC to play against Monash GC.
Cabramatta GC offered up a testing track, which was so right for a finals match up. Winter had arrived early….. Blustery showers and the annoying on and off with the wet gear….. Up and down with the umbrella….. Then play the shot! The team match ups were evenly balanced, which made for an exciting day of golf. As the matches progressed to through the day, the feed back coming through was positive. It seemed we had the edge for most of the day. The team came up with a brilliant win in tough conditions. Big! Big! Thank you to our loyal supporters and caddies. You make such a difference. Anthony Ragusa Andrew King Scott Haywood Paul Stewart Shannen (with an E) Mr & Mrs Khamphounvong Results. 1. We travelled away to Kareela GC for our final divisional game of the season.
The weather was quite unsettled, Blustery, swirling winds made the club selection a tad challenging.
But having a team full of experts in howling gales…..This was just another day on the golf course.
Kareela GC offers up an unusual track. The front 9 could not be more different than the back….
Prior to tee off the team was aware we had qualified into the quarter finals.
But every body was determined to finish the last game on a high! We came ever so close to picking up another away win.
In the end Kareela just knocked us off 3 to 2.5.
Anyway we turn the page on that chapter and move on to the quarter finals.
We will play Monash GC on the 2nd of April 23, Golf course TBA.
We have had some fantastic support over the last 6 weeks, and I know all the team really appreciates your efforts.

Week 5 – 5th March 2023.
We hosted Rosnay GC for our 3rd and final home game of the season.
Another warm and sunny day at the coast, a very breezy 27 degrees. The wind seemed to go up a notch just prior to our 11am tee time, Magic!!
We have had many good battles over the years with Rosnay GC. And they always mange to put a resilient team together from a limited pool of members.
Hats off to them.
Fortunately the mixed team had a very impressive win 5.5 – 0 , another clean sweep ! The mixed team has never lost a match at home this season , Brilliant effort.
The support shown from all the major boys was quite special. Seeing the whole squad behind the 8th green.
Encouraging and supporting, gave us all a big lift. Thanks to Merv and the boys for sticking around. Great to see, thank you.
To all the supporters, spotters, caddies, It’s so encouraging to see you all out there, Many thanks.

Week 4 – 26th February 2023.
We hosted Hurstville GC for our 2nd home game of the season.
The golf course was bathed in sunshine, a perfect 28 degrees, slight 25k wind. Just enough to unsettle the away side.
After winning away last week at Hurstville, there was no sign of complacency with any of our team.
The confidence was high and the team spirt is amping up every week.
I’m not big on highlighting individuals, because we are a team of 16. And everyone is playing their part.
We came away with a solid win on the day.
A very impressive 5-0 Res halved.
We are all thankful to Jordan and his team for how the course was presented, especially the greens, they where true and consistent. Great job!
To all the supporters, spotters, caddies, It’s so encouraging to see you all out there, Many thanks.

Week 3- 19th February 2023
We travelled to Hurstville GC for our 2nd away game of the season.
It was hot and humid, some would say – Like a shearer’s arm pit……
Hurstville is a public golf course which has its limitations. You have to except it and do your best.
But having said that, they are in the middle of major referb and rebuild of the course and club house.
Considering the frustrations every body had, especially with the greens. The character of the players was never in doubt.
The Coast team pulled off a great win away from home. In very difficult playing conditions.
4.5 to 1 Brilliant !!
Big thanks to all the supporters, spotters, It is much appreciated.

Week 2- 12th February 2023
We hosted Kareela GC for our first home game.
Warm sunny and 50/60k gusting winds, it was always going to be tough, but its only wind……
The Kareela players were struggling to cope with the conditions, which was a big factor in the overall result.
Each grouping was in control from the get go!
All the Coast players showed plenty of determination to get the result. Great to see!
What a great win!!! I can’t remember the last time we completed the clean sweep…….
5.5 to 0 Fantastic!!!!

Week 1- 5th February 2023
We traveled over to Rosnay GC, For the 1st game of the season. The tee off was at 11.30am.
Which made for a very hot and steamy day ahead.
This dense tree lined course, with much slower greens than ours, Thick rough.
Which made for a challenging day ahead…
Unfortunately we went down 4 to 1.5.
3 of the matches finished on the 17th green. (Pretty good effort )
Big thanks to all the supporters it is much appreciated.
